Trade Offs of the Digital World

             Is digital just as good as the original? In the opinion of most, it is not. You can commonly hear people say that art looks so much better in person or that music sounds better at a concert than through your phone. There is a reason for this, though. While your phone converts the analog data of the real world into digital, it has to make some assumptions or rounds. 

              This causes the digital representation to be slightly different from the original. It was originally more noticeable when technology wasn’t as advanced, but as the technology improves, it gets harder and harder to notice, even if it is still there. Ultimately transferring objects from the real world to the digital slightly alters the digital version compared to the real world analog version.
